Huawei Mediapad M2 unveiled in Europe

Huawei has taken the wraps off the Huawei Mediapad M2 which would succeed the almost 16 months old Huawei Mediapad M1 tablet. The tablet has not been officially announced but it has been spotted at the company’s flagship store in Paris.

It is expected to be available in Europe (obviously starting with France) for a starting price of €279 (Wi-Fi version only) and €349 for the Wi-Fi + 4G version. 

The Huawei Mediapad M2 builds on the performance of its predecessor but looks more like a bigger Huawei P8 Max or Huawei P8. It keeps the same 8-inch display size, it is now more lighter and a little bit slimmer. It has an anodized aluminium frame which is the same employed on the P8 and P8 Max.

The tablet sports a 8-inch (1920 x 1200 pixels) Full HD IPS display, powered by a 64-bit octa-core HiSilicon Kirin 930 processor clocked at 2GHz paired with 2GB of RAM, 16GB or 32GB space of internal storage and a microSD card slot for storage expansion. 

The Huawei Mediapad M2 measures 7.8mm thin, weighs 310 grams, a front 2MP camera and a rear 8MP camera with LED flash. Connectivity options on the device includes – GPS, Bluetooth 4.0, NFC and Wi-Fi 802.11 a/b/g/n/ac. For the version with Cellular connectivity, it supports 4G LTE (LTE Cat.4 – upto 150Mbps).

It is backed by a 4500mAh battery and runs on Android 5.0 Lollippop OS with the company’s proprietary Emotion 3.0 UI ontop.
