Expected to debut at the MWC 2016, Huawei has officially announced the Huawei MediaPad T2 10.0 Pro tablet. The long awaited large-screened tablet, which slots into the midrange category, follows the launch of the Leica co-engineered Huawei P9 and P9 Plus but runs the recently dated version of Android OS.
Still based in the Android 5.1 Lollipop OS with the company’s Emotion UI (EMUI 3.1) on top, the Huawei MediaPad T2 10.0 Pro sports a 10.1-inch S-IPS display with 1920 x 1200 pixels screen resolution and a pixel density of 224ppi. It relies on an octa-core Qualcomm Snapdragon 616 processor with Adreno 405 GPU, either 2GB RAM and 16GB built-in storage space. There is a higher version with 3GB RAM and 32GB built-in storage space.
Both storage space are expandable and draw power from a 6600mAh battery. For photography, there is a front facing 2-megapixel camera and a rear facing 8-megapixel AutoFocus camera with LED flash. The tablet is available in Wi-Fi only and LTE (LTE Cat.4) models, measures 259.1 x 156.4 x 8.5mm in dimensions, weighs 495 grams and comes in both Black and White colour options. In Europe, pricing starts at around $320 for the Wi-Fi only model and $399 for the 4G LTE variant.
