Late in April, Huawei announced three smartphones under the Nova 7 series. All three – the Nova 7 Pro, Nova 7 and Nova 7 SE – come with 5G connectivity, EMUI 10.1 (based on Android 10), 8GB RAM and 4000mAh battery with 40W SuperCharge fast charging via USB Type-C. The main and pro models are based on the high-end Kirin 985 SoC while the smaller version is backed by the Kirin 820 SoC.
Huawei Nova 7 Pro 5G and Nova 7 5G
The Huawei Nova 7 Pro 5G is fitted with a curved 6.57 FHD+ OLED display with 19.5:9 aspect ratio, in-display fingerprint scanner and 32MP (f/2.0) + 8MP (f/2.2, 105°) selfie cameras in the dual punch-hole notch. Photography is handled by a 64MP (f/1.8, OIS) main camera paired with 8MP (f/2.4) ultra-wide and 2MP (f/2.4) macro cameras. An 8MP (f/3.4, OIS) periscope camera for 5x optical zoom, 10x Hybrid Zoom and 50x digital zoom completes the combination.
The Huawei Nova 7 has a tad smaller 6.53-inch FHD+ OLED display with 20:9 aspect ratio, in-display fingerprint sensor and a 32MP (f/2.2) selfie camera in its single punch-hole notch. It has the same 64MP (f/1.8) camera as the pro model, however, the periscope camera in the combination has changed to an 8MP (f/2.4, OIS) camera for 3x optical zoom, 5x Hybrid Zoom and 20x digital Zoom.
Huawei Nova 7 SE 5G
The toned-down Nova 7 SE has a 6.5-inch IPS display with a single 16MP selfie camera in the punch hole, side-mounted fingerprint sensor and the periscope camera in the quad-camera setup has been replaced with a 2MP (f/2.4) depth sensor. Just like the Nova 7 and Nova 7 Pro, the Nova 7 SE will arrive with 8GB of RAM and either 128GB or 256GB built-in storage.
Pricing and Availability
The base version of the Nova 7 Pro (128GB storage) is available for CNY 3,699 while the 256GB storage version cost CNY 4,099. It costs CNY 2,999 to get the base 128GB version of the Nova 7 and CNY 3,399 for the 256GB storage version. The Nova 7 SE is priced lower at CNY 2,399 and CNY 2,799 for the 128GB storage and 256GB storage options, respectively. They come in Black, Green, Purple, Red and Silver colours.
