Huawei has commenced sales of two new Nova series smartphones in Europe. The duo, dubbed Huawei Nova Lite+ and Huawei Nova Young are on sale in Italy via e-retailers – Amazon and ePrice for EUR a price tag of 170 and EUR 147 respectively. Both the Nova Lite+ and Nova Young are based existing Y series smartphones – the Huawei Y7 and Huawei Y6 (2017).
Available in Argento, Frost and Prestige Gold colours, the Huawei Nova Lite+ (aka Y7) features a 5.5-inch (1280 x 720 pixels) HD IPS display, 2GB RAM, 16GB built-in storage (expandable up to 128GB via microSD), front 8MP camera and rear 12MP camera with PDAF, LED flash and 1.25 μm pixel sensor.
The smartphone relies on an octa-core Qualcomm Snapdragon 435 processor clocked at 1.4GHz and boots Android 7.0 Nougat OS with EMUI 5.1 on top. It measures 153.6 x 76.4 x 8.35 mm, weighs 165 grams and depends on a 4,000mAh battery which promises up to 20 hours video playback time.
On its part, the Huawei Nova Young has a smaller 5-inch display with the same (1280 x 720 pixels) HD resolution and 3,000mAh battery. It also packs an octa-core Mediatek MT6737T processor, 2GB RAM, 16GB built-in expandable storage, front 5MP camera and rear 13MP camera with dual LED flash.
The Nova Young supports 4G LTE networks and comes pre-loaded with Android 6.0 Marshmallow OS with EMUI 4.1 on top. It measures 143.8 x 72 x 8.45 mm, weighs 150 grams and will arrives in either Gold or White colour. There is no word on availability in other markets.
