It is no longer new that Huawei is readying the successor to the Huawei Ascend P7 and the company has allegedly dropped the Ascend Moniker from its list of devices. The Huawei P8 as the successor would be known was expected to debut at the MWC 2015 but it looks like the device would be announced at a standalone event sometime in April.
The Huawei P8 got detailed on Weibo (Chinese Equivalent of Twitter) with its Specs, Launch date and Price detailed in the post. It would be powered by the in-house made latest – Kirin 930 CPU which is made using the 16nm process, even the Snapdragon 810 is made using the 20nm process.
Moving to the design it would sport a 5.2-inch Full HD display, a ceramic uni-body design and double-sided Gorilla Glass 3 Protection. It is also said to measure just 6mm in thickness which makes the iPhone 6 Plus bulkier at 6.9mm.
The Huawei P8 would have the same camera setup as that found on the Huawei Honor 6 Plus but this time it is rumored to be a dual 13MP main camera. There is a fingerprint sensor onboard and it would be powered by a 2600MAh battery.
Finally, the pricing details of the device was also stated as well as the launch date. It would go official on April 15th in London and would be priced at RMB 2999 (2999 Yuan) which around USD 480 or 423 Euros. Over the coming weeks we should still see more and details of the device till the mentioned launch date.
