Huawei P8 Max announced with 6.8-inch FHD display and 6.8mm thin body build

Huawei has announced a Max version of its flagship – the Huawei P8 Max. The P8 Max is a phablet (more like tablet) sized version of the Huawei P8 and the “Much Bigger than Bigger” tag is very appropriate.

The Huawei P8 Max has the same all-metal unibody premium build made from aerospace-grade aluminium as the P8 and measures 6.8mm thin. Internally the device is said to have a complicated 7 layer heat dispersion structure which keeps the chipset running cooler.

Moving to the specs, it sports a 6.8-inch (1920 X 1080 pixels) Full HD display, powered by an octa-core HiSilicon Kirin 935 processor (64-bit) which clocks up to 2.2GHz paired with 3GB of RAM. On the rear there is a 13MP camera with OIS but not with RBGW sensor on the P8, the front camera is a 5MP unit.

The P8 Max is backed by a 4360mAh battery which is said to provide around 2.23 days of normal usage, about 1.5 days of heavy usage and lasts about 15 hours of video playback. It runs on Android 5.0 Lollipop OS with EMUI 3.1 ontop – it comes with landscape mode like that seen on tablets and the custom software offers split-screen multi tasking. It supports Dual SIM functionality with Dual Standby and supports 4G LTE (up to 300Mbps) on both SIMs.

The Huawei P8 Max would be available in 30 countries about a month after the release of the Huawei P8. The standard model (16GB) would retail for €550 and the premium model (64GB) would retail for €650.
