Huawei and Samsung have both sent out press invites for the respective launch of smartphones with In-Display Camera. Samsung will announce the much rumoured Galaxy A8s on December 10 while Huawei will announce the Nova 4, a week later on December 17 in China.
Both the Huawei Nova 4 and Samsung Galaxy A8s will reportedly feature new LCD displays manufactured by BOE and have a tall 19.5:9 screen-to-body ratio. Each display will have a small circular notch in the display at the top- left corner which will house the front camera.
The Huawei Nova 4 is rumoured to have 6.4-inch (1440 x 2880 pixels) Full HD+ display with over 92-percent screen-to-body ratio, an octa-core processor (either the Kirin 980 or Snapdragon 710), 6GB of RAM, rear fingerprint sensor, 16MP + 24MP + 16MP triple camera setup, dual front camera and 4,000mAh battery. Another model with 4GB RAM is expected to be available too.
On the other hand, the Galaxy A8s will feature a 6.3-inch Full HD+ 2.5D Curved Glass display, Qualcomm Snapdragon 710 mobile platform, 6GB RAM + 128GB storage, 24MP + 10MP + 5MP triple camera setup, USB Type-C port and 3,400mAh battery with adaptive fast charging.
