Huawei to launch the Ascend P7 Smartphone with Sapphire Display

Huawei has confirmed plans it would launch a scratch proof sapphire display version of the Huawei Ascend P7. Following the announcement of the Ascend P7 in May, the company followed it up with an exclusive Ascend P7 Arsenal Edition in honor of its partnership with the UK football club.

Sapphire display in recent times is associated with premium smartphones likened to companies like Vertu and heavily tipped to debut with the upcoming iPhone 6. Kyocera also recently announced the Kyocera Brigadier with a saphire sheld display, so we should expect to see more smartphones with sapphire displays.

Whilst confirming the device would add sapphire display, the specs remains basically the same. Expect the device to feature a 5-inch 1080p Full HD IPS display, powered by a 1.8GHz Quad-core HiSilicon Kirin 910T processor with Mali-450 MP4 GPU, 2GB of RAM, 16GB of internal sorage, microSD card slot, 13MP rear camera with Sony’s BSI sensor, 8MP front camera, 4G LTE connectivity, 2500mAh battery and run on Android 4.4 Kitkat OS with Huawei’s Emotion UI on top.

Reports suggests the device would go on sale in September; couple with a sapphire display the price of the device may increase from the price of the normal display edition. Huawei is set to announce the Ascend Mate 7 with Fingerprint sensor at the IFA next week, much would be seen if the Ascend P7 with sapphire display would debut too.
