Huawei to launch wearables in Nigeria starting August

Africans with the exception of South Africa, are uses to getting devices several months after it goes official in other locations. So it comes as no surprise that Huawei has announced it would be bringing its series of wearables devices to Nigeria.

The company has earmarked the Huawei TalkBand B2 as the first to launch in the country by August 2015.

The wearable monitors your exercise, tells the time, lets you answer your phone calls via a bluetooth built-in headset. It is compatible with Android and iOS devices; and is expected to last three to six full days of usage depending on the use.

The TalkBand B2 is expected to be joined by the Huawei Watch and the Huawei TalkBand N1 and the Huawei Watch at later dates.

Commenting on the new development, the Senior Marketing Manager, Huawei Consumer BG, Mr. Olaonipekun Okunowo, said;

“Huawei brand’s vision is ‘Dreams Inspire Creativity’. And our wearable devices are meant to offer the best all-around smart solution to consumers. No doubt, wearable devices will remain one of the most significant trends in the device industry, and by leveraging Huawei’s technology and innovation, Huawei Consumer BG aims to be a leader in the wearable space global and Nigeria is not exemption. Therefore, we shall launch our wearable in Nigeria starting with the introduction of Huawei Talkband B2 from August 2015.
