Alongside the P10 and P10 Plus smartphones, the Huawei Watch 2 also went official yesterday at the MWC 2017 in Barcelona, Spain. The second gen smartwatch is focused on fitness and adds features such as GPS/GLONASS, NFC and 4G LTE. It also comes in two variants – the Watch 2 and Watch 2 Classic.

Asides the option of cellular connectivity in some models, both options are similar in hardware and software, however, the body design stands out. The Huawei Watch 2 has a sporty outlook with a plastic case and an interchangeable rubber strap (20mm), which is available in Carbon Black, Concrete Grey and Dynamic Orange. The Huawei Watch 2 Classic has a stainless steel case and leather strap (22mm).
The smartwatch has a 1.4-inch (390 x 390) AMOLED display with Corning Gorilla Glass 3 protection and a 420mAh one, which is stated to provide up to 2 or 3 days of battery life. When the Watch Mode function is turned on, the smartwatch guarantees about 40 hours of usage (viewing time and counting steps) on just 10% charge left. With this mode, the watch can last up to 25 days of usage on a single charge.
The Huawei Watch (and Watch 2 Classic) weighs about 57 grams; this is about 32 grams less than the LG Watch Sport (89 grams) and runs Google’s Android Wear 2.0. The rest of the specs include – Qualcomm Snapdragon Wear 2100 processor, 768MB of RAM, 4GB built-in storage, Bluetooth 4.1, Wi-Fi, Android Pay support, and IP68- certified (water resistant and dust protection).
The Huawei Watch 2 and Huawei Watch 2 Classic will go on sale by mid-March in China and Europe (Spain, France, Portugal, Italy and Germany); late March in the UK and by April in the US, Russia and Australia. Prices for the available models are lised below:
