Huawei has listed up a new Y Series smartphone – the 2017 edition of the original Y5 dubbed Huawei Y5 2017. It packs a 8.45mm thick textured body with soft curvature design, 5-inch HD display and a 3000mAh polymer battery, which should last up to 1.5 days on a single charge.
On the inside, the Huawei Y5 2017 is powered by a quad-core Mediatek MT6737T Cortex-A53 processor clocked at 1.4GHz with Mali-T720 GPU. The SoC is paired with 2GB of RAM and 16GB built-in storage which is expandable up to 128GB. It comes pre-installed with Android 6.0 Marshmallow OS with the company’s EMUI 4.1 on top.
For handing photography, the device is equipped with a rear 8MP camera with f/2.0 aperture and Dual LED flash, together alongside a front facing 5MP camera with soft Flash and 84-degree wide angle lens for selfies. At night or in dark places, the dual rear flash also act as a flashlight.
The Huawei Y5 2017 supports 4G LTE networks (FDD: MYA-L03/L23; FDD/TD: MYA-L02/L22) and arrives in Blue, Gold, Grey, Pink and White. Also, it comes with an ‘Easy KEY’ feature. That makes operating the phone easier. Once the appropriate shortcuts have been pre-set, a simple press, double press and press-and-hold gesture would launch the set apps or features. No word on pricing and availability.
