Huawei Y7 Prime Debuts With 3GB RAM, 4,000mAh Battery

Prominent Chinese device maker, Huawei has released a new Y Series smartphone – the Huawei Y7 Prime, with a phablet-sized screen and a large capacity battery. It is very similar to the recently announced Huawei Y7 (Enjoy 7 Plus) but comes with a bigger RAM and storage.

The Huawei Y7 Prime has the same 5.5-inch In-cell IPS display with 2.5D curved glass ontop and 1280 x 720 pixels (HD) screen resolution but now packs 3GB RAM and 32GB built-in storage along with the octa-core Qualcomm Snapdragon 435 (MSM8940) processor clocked at 1.4GHz.

The device has a rear 12MP camera with f/2.2 lens, LED Flash, 1.25 μm pixel sensor and PDAF; and a front facing 8MP selfie camera. It measures 153.6 x 76.4 x 8.35 mm, weighs 165 grams and sports a fingerprint sensor below the main camera on the rear for improved security.

Connectivity and port options on the device include: 4G LTE Cat.4, Bluetooth 4.1 + BLE, Wi-Fi 802.11 b/g/n, micro USB and GPS / AGPS / Glonass. It boots Android 7.0 Nougat OS with EMUI 5.1 and a long lasting 4,000mAh battery provides the much needed power. The Huawei Y7 Prime is priced at HKD 1,880 (USD 241 or EUR 214).
