US based OEM, IDroid (or iDroid USA) has launched its smartphone and tablets offering in Nigeria. The company entered the Nigerian smartphone market around the third quarter of 2014. And after some thorough analysis, the company decided to tap into the over 170 million population in the country and looks to push around 100,000 to 500,000 units sales per month.
IDroid USA kicked off its operation on February 1st and it’s choice of Headquarters is not Lagos but Kaduna. The company is looking to tap into other African Countries with Uganda, South Africa, Angola, Algeria, Morocco, Tanazania and others markets on the continent.
IDroid would be looking to compete with the likes of Innjoo, Infinix, Tecno, Samsung, Wiko and other relatively present brands in the Nigerian market. We have decided to take a look at the products the company is dishing out into the market.

IDroid Smartphones
IDroid Ikon Z5
features a 5-inch IPS OGS HD screen, powered by 1.5GHz quad-core processor, Android 4.4 Kitkat OS, 8MP main camera, 2MP front camera, Bluetooth, 4G, Wi-Fi and 3G. It weighs just 85grams in weight and uses a 1800mAh battery. There is no word on the price.
IDroid Royal V7
features a 5.5-inch qHD IPS OGS display, powered by a quad-core Mediatek MT6582 processor with 1GB of RAM, 8GB ROM, a microSD card slot, 13MP main camera, 5MP front camera and Android 4.4 Kitkat OS.
It is backed by a 2050mAh battery, measures 6.9mm in thickness and available in Yellow, Black, White, Red and Blue colour options. The phablet sells for around N49,900 in Nigeria.
IDroid Tango A5
features a 5-inch IPS OGS display, powered by 1.3GHz quad-core processor, 8MP/2MP main and front camera, Android 4.4 Kitkat OS, Dual SIM, air Gesture, Wake up Gesture, Bluetooth, Wi-Fi, 4G and 3G.
iDroid Tablets

features a 7-inch 1024 x 600 pixels HD display, powered by Rockchip 3026 dual core processor with 512MB, 8GB space of internal storage, a microSD card, measures 9.9mm thin, weighs 275 grams, 2MP main camera and 0.3MP front camera and runs on Android 4.2 Os.
IDroid Mini
features 7.9-inch (1024 x 768 pixels) IPS screen, powered by cortex A9 quad-core processor which clocks at 1.8GHz, with 1GB RAM, 8GB space of internal storage, up to 32GB via microSD card.
It weighs 306 grams, measures 7.2mm in thinness, sports a 2MP main camera, 0.3MP front camera, comes with a stylus, and runs on an unannounced version of Android (possibly Android 4.2).
