Lenovo has announced two new Vibe series smartphone – the Vibe Z2, its first selfie focussed smartphone and the company’s first 64-bit chipset device ; the Vibe X2, the first world’s layered smartphone and sports three layer design.
The Lenovo Vibe Z2 is the third smartphone in the market with a CPU based on 64-bit architecture behind the Desire 510 and Desire 820. The device sports Dual-SIM functionality and has a brushed metal unibody design being just 7.8mm in thickness.
The Lenovo Vibe Z2 features a 5.5-inch (720 x 1280 pixels) HD display and powered by a 64-bit Quad-core Qualcomm snapdragon Soc clocked at 1.2GHz; the 64-bit chipset would take full advantage of upcoming version of Android OS. Memory features includes – 2GB of RAM and 32GB of inbuilt storage.
On the rear is a 13MP camera with OIS, BSI sensor & LED flash and a 8MP fixed focus front camera obviously for taking selfies and video calls; expect the camera to come loaded with host of features. Connectivity options on the Vibe Z2 includes 4G LTE, Bluetooth, micro-USB and Wi-Fi 802.11 b/g/n/ac.
The Lenovo Vibe Z2 measures 148.5 x 76.4 x 7.8mm, weighs 158grams, runs on Android 4.4 kitkat with VIBEUI ontop. The device would come in White, Titanium, and Gold colour options.
The Lenovo Vibe X2 on the other hand is the first smartphone to feature MediaTek’s latest MT6595 True8Core processor. The device sports a 5-inch (1080×1920 pixels) IPS display, 2GHz octa-core MediaTek MT6595m processor, 2GB of RAM, 32GB of inbuilt storage, 13MP rear autofocus camera, 5MP front camera and 2300mAh battery.
The Vibe X2 measures 140.2 x 68.6 x 7.27mm, weighs 120grams, runs on Android 4.4 kitkat OS with Vibe UI ontop and has micro USB, Wi-Fi 802.11 b/g/n/ac, Bluetooth and 4G LTE. in addition to the smartphone, the company also introduced click-on accessories called Vibe Xtensions; this includes the Vibe X2 battery and Vibe x2 Speaker.
The Vibe X2 Speaker ampilifies sound, has built-in-mic for conference calls and a stand for handsfree usage; while the Vibe X2 battery extensd the smartphone battery by 75 percent. Both device act as protective for the smartphone against accidental falls.
The Lenovo Vibe Z2 has been priced at $429, the Vibe X2 at $399; both devices would be available in October starting from China before rolling out to Asia-Pacific, Eastern Europe and Middle East countries.
