iLand Genesys II Brings Little Improvements Over the Genesys

iLand, a local device maker, has announced the iLand Genesys II (iLand Genesys 2) and announced its launch in other African markets including Ghana. The Genesys II is the supposed follow up to the original Genesys, has almost the same look and brings a couple of minor improvements.

The smartphone is also expected to run the dated Android 5.1 Lollipop OS built sources closer to the company says its working on a new smartphone with Android Marshmallow OS reportedly called iLand Genesys + (iLand Genesys Plus).

Giving a verdict on the specs, the Genesys II brings a bigger screen (5.5-inch compared to 5-inch) although the resolution stays the same, and better cameras (8MP + 5MP compared to 5MP + 2MP). It is also equipped with a bigger battery (600mAh more than the Genesys)..

Seemingly available in Black and maybe White colours, the iLand Genesys II is available online on Konga and Jumia, for a price tag starting at N21,000 (about N3,000 more than its predecessor – iLand Genesys). The company alo has a branded 16GB MicroSD memory card for sale for N2,200 and Connect snap selfie stick for N1,000.

I got the genesys 2 last week from konga and I’m finding it difficult to rate this device it has nice specs and design but the battery is something else…. it takes forever to charge and few minutes to drain on very light usage (browse using 2G network) in fact since I got the device it has Never charged fully to 100% highest I have seen is 56% which dropped almost immediately to 34% and that’s after charging for 5 hours straight ….I have used solar, big and small generator , NEPA light to charge the device still same result… it’s absurd to think I was tempted to buy the device because of the 3000mah I saw advertised online…
