An improved version of the Gionee M3 has been certified on TENAA for China – the Gionee M3S. The device keeps most of the specs as its predecessor with some improvements in some areas and now comes with 4G LTE support.
Improving on the Gionee M3, the Gionee M3S now comes with 1.5GB of RAM compared to 1GB on the former, a quad-core processor clocked at 1.2GHz (possibly the Qualcomm snapdragon 410 ) compared to the quad-core Mediatek SoC clocked at 1.3GHz.
The front camera has been bumped to 5MP from 2MP, from 8GB space of internal storage to 16GB space and it runs on Android 5.1.x Lollipop OS instead of Android Kitkat. It has also shed some weight and appears slimmer with its 144.7 x 71.2 x 10.18 mm dimensions and it now weighs 178.2 grams.
Both the M3 and the M3S has the same 5-inch display with a resolution of 1280 x 720 pixels (this time around with an AMOLED panel), 8MP AutoFocus rear camera with LED flash, Dual SIM functionality, USB OTG, Bluetooth, GPS, Wi-Fi 802.11 b/g/n, FM Radio and high capacity 5000mAh offering about 32.8 days of standby time.
There is no word on when the Gionee M3S would launch but it is expected to arrive in Black and White colour options. You should also know that the Gionee M3 is also known as the Gionee Marathon M3 so if the Gionee M3S ends up being called the Gionee Marathon M3S, don’t be surprised.
