iNew U5 debuts with 5″ screen, 8MP camera, Android 5.1 and 4G LTE

On the back of the announcement of the iNew L3, the company has taken the wraps off the iNew U5 – an entry-level smartphone with LTE connectivity and runs Android Lollipop OS. The device is available in Gold, Grey and Red colour options but there is no word on pricing.

Moving to the specs, the iNew U5 sports a 5-inch IPS display with a resolution of 1280 x 720 pixels (HD), powered by a 64-bit quad-core Mediatek MT6735 processor clocked at 1GHz paired with Mali T720 MP2 GPU, 1GB of RAM and 16GB space of internal storage. There is a microSD card slot for storage expansion up to 32GB. 

The main camera is a 8 Megapixels snapper with LED flash and the front camera is a 2Megapixels snapper for selfies. Connectivity options on the iNew U5 includes – GPS/A-GPS, Bluetooth 4.0, micro USB v2.0, Wi-Fi 802.11 b/g/n, Wi-Fi Hotspot and 4G LTE.

Another connectivity option on the device is the IR Sensor (IR Blaster) which makes it useful as a remote control to control several house appliances such as TVs, Air Conditioners, DVD players and more. Sensor option on the device includes – Accelerometer, Light Sensor and Proximity sensor. 

With the weight around 144 grams, the iNew U5 measures 71.9 x 144.8 x 8.2 mm in dimensions, Dual SIM (Micro SIM) functionality with Dual Standby, built-in FM Radio, runs Android 5.1 Lollipop OS and is backed by a 2300mAh Li-ion battery.
