There are no better affordable smartphones in Nigeria than the Infinix Hot 2 and the Innjoo Fire at the moment. So it is only right to pitch both devices against one another and see which one ends up coming out on top.
The Innjoo Fire arrived in May, earlier than the Infinix Hot 2 which just debuted in August. But when two devices from different manufacturers have the same display size, processor and memory, means there is something peculiar about them.
Let’s quickly get down to the details.
Infinix Hot 2 vs Innjoo Fire: Battle of Affordable
• Display: Both the Infinix Hot 2 and the Innjoo Fire both have a 5-inch IPS display; but the former has a resolution of 1280 x 720 pixels (HD) which is more sharper and the latter has a screen resolution of 960 x 540 pixels (qHD).
• Processor and Memory: Both smartphones are powered by a quad-core processor clocked at 1.3GHz with 2GB of RAM and 16GB space of internal storage. There is even a microSD card slot for additional storage up to 32GB.
• Camera: In terms of photography, the Infinix Hot 2 has a main 8MP camera with LED flash and a front facing 2MP camera for selfies. The Innjoo Fire on its path has a front facing 5MP camera and rear facing 5MP camera with LED flash.
• Operating System (OS) and Battery: The Innjoo Fire runs Android 4.4 Kitkat OS with Innjoo’s UI ontop and is backed by a 2500mAh battery while the Infinix Hot 2 is backed by a smaller 2200mAh battery and the latest Android OS (Android 5.1 Lollipop with promised upgrade to Android 6.0 Marshmallow.
Conclusion
In terms of processing power and speed both the Infinix Hot 2 and the Innjoo Fire are evenly matched in that aspect.
The Hot 2 has a sharper display resolution, has a better main camera, runs the latest OS but has a slightly less capacity battery. Meanwhile, the Fire has a lower resolution display, a very good front camera, doesn’t run the latest OS but its battery is much better of the Hot 2.
For the little less, the Innjoo Fire would cost you N17,700 while the Infinix Hot 2 would cost you N19,500. If you prefer longer battery life over the latest OS, the choice is clear to make and also, if you are always after the latest OS, same applies to you. Do we still have any doubting Thomas out there? I guess not.
I would go for the Infinix Hot 2, I don’t mind sacrificing some hours of battery for the latest OS.
