Google has boosted the pedigree of Infinix by partnering with the device manufacturer to bring Android One smartphones to Africa. The Infinix Hot 2 is the first smartphone under the Android One program in Nigeria and Africa in General.
At the moment, only Six African countries – Egypt, Ghana, Kenya, Ivory Coast, Morocco and Nigeria will get the Infinix Hot 2. They join the likes of India, Myanmar, Thailand, Nepal, Indonesia, Pakistan, Turkey, Sri Lanka, Bangladesh and the Philippines with all having one or more Android One smartphones.
Everybody is a winner in this case… The partnership with Google has increased the pedigree of Infinix across Africa and possibly across the world. Not forgetting Jumia has also managed to clinch the deal in all the six African countries and in Nigeria, MTN could make do with increase in active subscribers and not just subscribers alone.
