Last weekend, Infinix announced the Infinix Note 2, the device behind the Infinix Big 6 (#InfinixBig6) campaign and successor to the Infinix Hot Note. The company is expected to release more phablet sized device under the Note series (formerly Hot Note) with big capacity batteries.
We will briefly examine the comparisons and differences of the only two devices available yet in that line – the Note 2 and Hot Note, judging with their physical specifications.
Infinix Note 2 vs Infinix Hot Note: Key Specs Comparisons and Differences
• The Infinix Note 2 sports a 6-inch display and Infinix Hot Note, a 5.5-inch display, both however have a (1280 x 720 pixels) HD resolution display.
• The processor has changed too, it is no longer the an octa-core 32-bit MediaTek MT6592 processor with ARM Mali-450 GPU on the Hot Note which scores a total score of 29568 on AnTuTu but an octa-core 64-bit MediaTek MT6753 processor with ARM Mali-T720 GPU on the Note 2 with total score of 36139 on the benchmark website.

• Both device have 1GB of RAM, built-in 16GB storage space and a microSD card slot for storage expansion. The Note 2 however has a 2GB variant which costs comes but has the same storage space.
• Infinix upgraded the camera on the Infinix Note 2 to 13-megapixels from 8-megapixels on the Hot Note; both device however still use the same front facing 2-megapixels camera for video chats and selfies.
• Both the Infinix Hot Note and Note 2 are backed by a 4000mAh Li-Po battery which will see it last up to 2 days of mixed usage. It also comes with fast charging technology to speed up the charging time of the device.
• The Infinix Note 2 joins the growing list of devices running Android 5.1 Lollipop OS out-of-the-box while the Infinix Hot Note runs Android 4.4 Kitkat OS but is upgradable to Android Lollipop OS.
Verdict
In the end, the pricing mostly sways the decision of the buyer, however, there is no denying the fact that the Infinix Note 2 brings some incremental updates over the Infinix Hot Note; but nothing massive has changed baring some little details.
