Yesterday, Infinix Mobility unveiled the latest ‘Note’ series smartphone at a scheduled launch event in Dubai. The Infinix Note 5, as it is known, features the now standard Infinity design with 18:9 aspect ratio, A.I assisted functions and joins Google’s Android One family.
The Infinix Note 5 comes pre-loaded with stock Android 8.1 Oreo OS (with further software updates expected to be delivered directly by Google). It packs a 6-inch Full HD+ 18:9 IPS LCD display and depends on a 4,500mAh battery that guarantees up to 3 days of usage thanks to the AI power management feature onboard.
The device is available in two memory (RAM and storage) configurations – the standard Note 5 with 3GB + 32GB, and the Note 5 Pro with a stylus pen (Infinix XPen) and 4GB + 64GB. Both models are powered by the Mediatek Helio P23 (MT6763T) octa-core processor and internal storage is expandable up to 128GB.
For photography, there is a rear facing 12MP camera with 1.25um large pixel, f/2.0 aperture and dual LED flash. Selfie is handled by a front placed 16MP low-light camera with f/2.0 aperture and AI Bokeh Selfie. The Note 5 also features a rear fingerprint sensor, Dual 4G Nano SIM and comes pre-loaded with various Google products including Google Lens and Google Photos.
Following its global launch in Dubai, the Infinix Note 5 is expected to be available on sale in more than 30 countries including Cote d’Ivoire, Egypt, Ghana, India, Kenya, Morocco and Nigeria.
PS: Infinix confirms the Note 5 will get Android P starting March or April 2019.
