Infinix Note 8, Note 8i with Helio G80 SoC

Less than a year after the launch of the Note 7 and Note 7 Lite by Infinix, the company has announced its next-generation Note series devices – the Infinix Note 8 and Infinix Note 8i. Both are based on the MediaTek Helio G80 (2x Cortex-A75 @2GHz + 6x Cortex-A55 @ 1.8GHz) octa-core processor with Mali-G52 MC2 GPU and depends on a 5,200mAh battery with 18W (9V/2A) dual-engine fast charging.

The Note 8 has a 6.95-inch HD+ IPS LCD Dual Infinity-O display with 20.5:9 aspect ratio, side-mounted fingerprint sensor, Dual speakers plus DTS Audio processing and 16MP AF + 2MP FF dual selfie cameras in the left-top dual notch. The quad rear camera setup is made up of 64MP AF main + 2MP FF portrait + 2MP FF macro + 2MP FF AI lens paired with quad flashlight. It records 2K videos @30fps.

The rest of the specs includes USB Type-C, face unlock, Dual Nano SIM slots, microSD card slot (supports up to 2TB cards) and USB OTG. The Note 8 is available in one configuration only: 6GB RAM + 128GB storage, and comes pre-loaded with XOS 7.1 (based on Android 10) and arrives with other features such as Xclone, Xnote 4.0, Thunder-Back mode and Smart scanner-translator.

The Note 8i, on the other hand, has a smaller 6.78-inch Infinity-O display with the same aspect ratio as the Note 8. The other key difference is the front and rear cameras. The front display houses the single 8MP FF selfie camera with dual front flash while the rear dons the 48MP AF + 2MP FF Portrait + 2MP macro + 2MP FF AI quad camera setup. The rest of the specs are the same as the Note 8.

In terms of pricing the Infinix Note 8 is available on sale in retail stores across Nigeria for price tag starting at NGN 90,400 while the Infinix Note 8i is on sale for NGN 65,700 (4GB RAM + 64GB storage), NGN 73,300 (4GB RAM + 128GB storage) and NGN 78,100 (6GB RAM + 128GB storage).
