Infinix Mobility has officially announced the launch of the Infinix S2 Pro (X522) in Kenya. The mid-tier camera-centric smartphone, which is also listed on e-commerce website – Lazada in Indonesia, succeds the Infinix Hot S and is expected to make its way to other African countries including Nigeria and Ghana soon.
The highlight of the Infinix S2 Pro (X522) is the Dual front cameras with Front LED flash, Group Beautification, and ultra wide 135-degree angle lens for ‘Selfies and Wefies’. The device sports a front facing primary 13MP Beauty camera and 8MP Wide Angle Camera. The main camera is a 13MP Camera with Dual Tone LED flash.
Asides the camera features, the device relies on a 1.3GHz octa-core Mediatek MT6753W processor with Mali-T720, 3GB of RAM, and 32GB built-in storage (expandable up to 128GB). It sports a 5.2-inch (1280 x 720 pixels) HD display with 2.5D Dragontrail glass, fingerprint sensor (rear) and a 3,000mAh battery with fast charging.
Pre-installed with Android Marshmallow OS with XOS, the Infinix S2 Pro supports 4G LTE networks, a number of fingerprint-based apps and certain features on the device can be operated using the fingerprint sensor. The device is already available on Jumia Kenya starting at KsH 15,699 (~US$ 152).
PS: Technically, a Wefie could be said to be the opposite of Selfie. It is a Selfie of two or more people.
