Infinix S2 Pro vs Tecno Camon CX: Battle Of The Cameras

Apparently responding to the number of Dual-Camera smartphones launched around the world, Infinix recently announced the Infinix S2 Pro (and S2) with dual front cameras. To counter this, Tecno also came up with a new member of its camera-centric Camon series – the Camon CX (and Camon CX Air).

While not taking anything away from the other key specs, the spotlight has been on the performance of e cameras on both devices. Having had the privilege to test run both devices, we will be taking a look at how they compare in specifications.

Infinix S2 Pro vs Tecno Camon CX: Key Points

Camera

Starting with the standout feature, the Infinix S2 Pro sport a rear 13MP camera and dual front cameras (13MP + 5MP); while the Tecno Camon CX has front and rear 16MP cameras. It is hard to seperate these devices here as they both capture quality photos and record Full HD videos.

Display and Dimensions

The Infinix S2 Pro has a smaller 5.2-inch display with 720p HD screen resolution while the Tecno Camon CX has a bigger 5.5-inch display with 1080p Full HD screen resolution and is thinner than the S2 Pro.

Processor and Operating System

Both devices are powered by octa-core Mediatek processors (MT6753 on the S2 Pro and MT6750T on the Camon CX). The former runs XOS based on Android Marshmallow (upgradeable to Android N) while the latter runs HiOS v2.0.0 based on Android Nougat OS.

Memory and Storage

The Infinix S2 Pro packs 3GB RAM and 32GB storage space while the Tecno Camon CX has 2GB RAM and 16GB built-in storage. While some models of the Camon CX reportedly come with 3GB RAM, both devices have expandable storage (up to 128GB via microSD).

Battery

The Tecno Camon CX promises a slightly larger 3,200mAh battery with light speed charge compared to the 3,000mAh battery on the Infinix S2 Pro.

Conclusion

The allure of a bigger and sharper display and the latest Android OS makes the Tecno Camon CX a more suitable option. However, this doesn’t make Infinix S2 Pro a less capable device, as it comes with bigger memory and storage, and the dual front cameras have wider angles for capturing selfies and wefies.
