InFocus has announced a new mini-PC – the Kangaroo Mobile Desktop Pro which packs the same technical specs as the original Kangaroo but brings larger dock, space for 2.5-inch HDD and a new wealth of ports for $199.99.
In terms of the internals, the Kangaroo Mobile Desktop Pro has the same internals as the original model – an Intel Atom x5-Z8500 processor clocked at 1.44GHz, 2GB of RAM, 32GB built-in storage, microSD card slot and a fingerprint reader which takes advantage of the Windows Hello features.
On the inside, there is Windows 10 Home OS, Bluetooth 4.0 and Wi-Fi 802.11 a/b/g/n/ac. The new Kangaroo comes with a docking station that covers the bottom of the mini-PC and adds more ports – VGA, HDMI, Ethernet and 3 USB ports (1 x USB 3.0 and 2 x USB 2.0).
There is an audio jack and a 2.5-inch drive bay (SDD or HDD) for the option to add more storage. The Kangaroo Mobile Desktop Pro measures 171 x 86 x 32.2 mm and makes use of an app that converts the iPad into monitor for using the mini-PC. The app has also been updated to work with iPhones but unlike the iPad version which is free, it costs $4.99.
