Innjoo 2 goes official with Fingerprint sensor, 13MP front camera and Android 5.1

At a scheduled event in Lagos today, Innjoo has officially launched its latest mainstream phone – the Innjoo 2 in Nigeria. The 5-inch sized device which comes in Gold and White colour options only is available in 3G models (Innjoo 2) and 4G LTE models (Innjoo 2 LTE).

The Innjoo 2 sports a 5-inch (1280 x 720 pixels) HD IPS display with 2.5D metal frame, 70.6% screen-to-body ratio and a pixel density of 294ppi. Under the hood, it is powered by an octa-core Mediatek MT6753 processor with Mali-T720 MP3 GPU, 2GB of RAM, 16GB built-in storage space and addition storage can be added up to 128GB microSD cards. 

In the camera segment, the device has a front facing 13MP AF camera with 85-degrees wide viewing angle and fill flashlight which will appeal well to the selfie lovers and a rear facing 13MP AF camera with Dual LED flash, f/2.0 aperture, 5P lens, capable of capturing 1080p videos.

A fingerprint sensor can be found below the main camera; useful for unlocking the device (0.46s fingerprint sensor unlock) and taking photos with fingerprint. On the software side, the Innjoo 2 runs Android 5.1 Lollipop OS, comes with Fly Launcher pre-installed and Innjoo’s own UI ontop (InnOS) allows for several gesture support.

Connectivity options on the device includes – Bluetooth 4.0, micro USB 2.0, GPS, Wi-Fi 802.11 b/g/n and 3G/4G LTE. Measuring 143.5 x 69.4 x 7.3 – 7.99mm in dimensions and weighing 126 grams (3G)/134 grams (4G LTE), the Innjoo 2 dons a Hybrid Dual Micro SIM slots with the other SIM slot acting as the microSD card.

The whole package is backed by an ample 3200mAh Polymer battery with Rapid charge 2.0 technology and conserving the battery charges up to 60% in about an hour. Choosing the Innjoo 2 is a no-brainer but there is still no word on pricing and availability. We will bring updates when we have them.
