GBD might not be as popular as Huawei and Xiaomi but the company has a new tablet offering which is not only beautifully designed, it is is affordable and packs some powerful specs features. The GBD TurnMeOn ME1is not the first but it is the latest tablet from the company.
The GBD TurnMeOn ME1 sports a 8.9-inch (1920 x 1200 pixels) Full-HD display with an aspect ratio of 16:10 and is protected by Corning Gorilla Glass 4. The Chassis is built from Magnesium-aluminium and the screen is incorporated with a digitizer which brings support for a Stylus Pen with about 256 levels of pressure. The digital pen is expected to be called Me-Pen which does almost the same function as the Surface Pen from Microsoft.
Under the hood, it would be powered by an Intel Atom Z3736F (Bay Trail) processor clocked at 2.16GHz paired with 2GB of DDR3 RAM and 64GB space of internal storage. There is a micro SD card slot which allows storage expansion up to 32GB. Handling photography activities on the slate is a front and a rear 2MP camera.
Connectivity options on the device includes – 802.11 b/g/n Wi-Fi, Bluetooth 4.0, micro USB, USB 2.0 and HDMI. It measures 238 x 152 x 8.2 mm and is backed by a 8000mAh battery which is expected to last several hours of usage. It runs Windows 8.1 OS which is expected to be upgradable to Windows 10 OS when it arrives. A dual OS version of the TurnMeOn ME1 is also said to be available with Android 4.4 Kitkat OS joining the Windows 8.1 OS.
The GBD TurnMeOn ME1 is expected to be available by the end of July 2016 in Gold, Silver and Gray colour options. The slate would also come with a housing cover which protects the screen of the tablet when placed in a bag and also has a ring like slot to house the Me-Pen.
