Last week (23/08/16), a new 4G LTE provider announced the commencement of network operations in Nigeria. Called the InterC Network, the new brand used to provide CDMA services under the name – InterCellular and is now relaunching with a new target of acquiring 10 million subscriber in the next five years of operation.
Now bankrolled by a Middle East conglomerate, Telto Group and partnering with Huawei to roll out services on 4G Long Term Evolution (LTE); InterC Network will now offer 4G LTE thanks to obtaining the requisite spectrum in the 800MHz band and in the 2.3GHz one.
The telco joins the ranks of Swift, Smile, Spectranet & Ntel are all vying for customers attention with the allure of fast browsing speed and call services. Currently, the company’s coverage map shows only the cities of Abuja, Port Harcourt and Kaduna are covered but plans to launch in other parts of the country including Lagos are underway.
Meanwhile, InterC Network is confirmed to be offering free Internet for the first month of use and 25% off the second. It is also partnering with the Transsion Holdings (owners of three well known brands – TECNO, itel and Infinix, and an after-sales service brand Carlcare). Others include – Ringo communication and Yudala.
This is not bad but cxan they stand the likes of Spectranet, Smile and Ntel
