Indian OEM, Intex has announced a new budget Android smartphone in the Aqua series of smartphone; dubbed the Intex Aqua 4X the device supports 3G connectivity but disappointedly runs on the dated Android 4.2 Jelly Bean OS.
The Intex Aqua 4X features a 4-inch (800 x 480 pixels) IPS OGS display, powered by a dual-core MediaTek MT6572 processor with 256MB of RAM, 512MB of internal storage and a microSD card slot for expansion (up to 32GB). There is a 2MP front facing camera with LED flash and a front facing VGA camera.
Moving to the connectivity options, along with 3G the device has Bluetooth, GPRS/EDGE, GPS/A-GPS and Wi-Fi option. The device is powered by a 1300mAh battery; which is touted to provide 3 hours of talktime and 180 hours of standby time.

The Intex Aqua 4X is available on eBay.in for Rs 2,999 ($49 / N8,000 in Naira) in Black and Grey colour options. Last month, the company launched the most affordable smartphone and the company’s first Firefox OS smartphone with a Rs 1999 ($33 / N5,000 in Naira) price tag, the Intex Cloud FX.
