Popular Indian device manufacturer, Intex has announced it would be launching a new mid-range smartphone – the
Intex Aqua GenX in some days time. The device is expected to be available in retail shops for a price tag around the Rs 14,000 ($216) mark starting October 15th.
Moving to the specs, the Intex Aqua GenX sports a 5.5-inch IPS capacitive touchscreen display with a resolution of 1920 x 1080 pixels (FHD) and is powered by an octa-core processor from Mediatek clocked at 1.3GHz paired with 2GB of RAM and 16GB native storage space.
The main camera is a 13MP AutoFocus snapper with LED flash, there is a front facing 5MP FixedFocus snapper for selfies and for increasing storage, there is a microSD card slot onboard for storage expansion up to 128GB. Connectivity options available on the device includes – Bluetooth, Wi-Fi 802.11 b/g/n, Wi-Fi Hotspot USB OTG, GPS with AGPS, microUSB v2.0 and 4G LTE.
Running Android 5.1 Lollipop OS out-of-the-box, the Intex Aqua GenX has Dual SIM slots and is backed by a 2850mAh Lithium Polymer battery.
There are also speculation that Intex has partnered up with Reliance Jio Infocomm to supply 4G phones with VoLTE (Voice over LTE) support n India. If this becomes a reality, the Intex Aqua GenX will be the first device to support this feature and would have the branding on both companies.
