In a world of flagships, there are also entry-level phones. Intex has gone with the latter by announcing the Intex Aqua Wave, a 4-inch sized smartphone which has the basic needs for first timers (or maybe as a second phone for some) and believe me it runs the now dated Android Kitkat OS.
The Intex Aqua Wave is priced around $45 (Rs 2949) and is available in Black, Grey and White colour options from BestBuy. It sports a 4-inch (800 x 480 pixels) WVGA TN display and is powered by a Spreadtrum SC7715A processor clocked at 1GHz with 256MB of RAM and 512MB of RAM.
Compulsively, there is a microSD card slot onboard for storage expansion up to 32GB. The device has Dual SIM (3G + 2G) slots, front and rear facing 0.3MP (VGA) cameras for taking what can be said to be photographs. Connectivity options on the device includes Bluetooth v2.1, Wi-Fi and 3G HSDPA.
Measuring 123.5 x 64.5 x 10mm in dimensions and weighing 113 grams in size, the Intex Aqua Wave runs Android 4.4.2 Kitkat OS and is backed by a 1400mAh battery which the company says will provide up to 3 hours of talk time (on 3G) and around 200 hours of standby time.
