Ahead of the new year, UMi has announced plans to undergo major changes and rebrand under a different moniker. Henceforth, the Chinese company will release its smartphone products under the UMIDIGI brand and the already announced UMi Z will be the last model labelled with UMi.
Going forward, UMIDIGI (short form for UMi Digital) will see the company build and thrive on the success of its expanding smartphone products, with the introduction of more varieties of digital product lines, such as Robots, Smart Bluetooth Headset, Smart Home and beyond.
The UMIDIGI Z PRO will be the first product sold under the new branding. Powered by the same Deca-Core Mediatek Helio X27 processor as the UMi Z, the device will be released on the same day as the former (January 4 onwards) and will reportedly be a 13MP Dual-Lens camera phone.
Asides the inclusion of a Dual rear cameras, the Z Pro has specs akin to the UMi Z. It sports a full metal body build, 5.5-inch Full HD display made by Sharp, 4GB of RAM, 32GB built-in storage, microSD card slot (up to 256GB extra space), 13MP front camera, USB Type-C port, 4G LTE (Cat.6) and a 3780mAh SONY-made battery.
