iOcean is one of the inferior OEMS from China but in iOcean X9 they have a slightly solid device. The X9 is the company’s true flagship for 2015 and is expected to do better than the iOcean MT6752 Rock which didn’t gain much traction due to its design.
What is rather confusing is if the device would run Android 5.0 Lollipop OS from the box or it would be upgradable to the OS in some months time. The device however supports 4G LTE and as expected comes with Dual SIM slots (with Dual Standby).
The iOcean X9 sports a 5-inch (1920 x 1080 pixels) Full HD LTPS LCD display and has a metal body build. Under the hood, it is powered by a 64-Bit octa-core MediaTek MT6752 processor with Mali-760 MP2 GPU paired with 2GB/3GB of RAM and 16GB space of internal storage. There is a microSD card onboard for storage expansion (up to 32GB).
The rear camera is a 13MP AutoFocus snapper with LED flash and a front 5MP camera for selfies et video chats. Connectivity options on the device includes – USB OTG, GPS, Infra-Red, Dual Band Wi-Fi, Bluetooth 4.0, micro USB, Wi-fi Hotspot, Wi-Fi display, 3G and 4G LTE. There is also HotKnot connectivity to bring NFC-Like features and sensor options includes – Gravity Sensor, Light Sensor, Gyroscope and Proximity Sensors.
The iOcean X9 measures 144.5 x 70.2 x 6.5mm in dimensions, weighs 158 grams, supports Dual SIM functionality (Nano + Micro SIMs), runs on Android 4.4 Kitkat/Android 5.0 Lollipop OS and is backed by a 2050mAh-2100mAh battery which also has fast-charging features.
China is the biggest thing right now. Apple makes most of its devices in China and most companies are now either locating their actories or opening their R&D centre there.

I concur with that R&D aspect. China is one of the best R&D hub. Gionee, Oppo, Xiaomi, ZTE and Huawei are living examples.
