iTel Mobiles, a brand under Transsion Holdings – home to both Infinix and Tecno, has launched a new selfie-centric phone – the itel iT1520 (itel Selfiepro iT1520) in India. It is positioned as the cheapest in the market to feature an Iris Scanner for biometric authentication and a price tag of Rs. 8490 ($128).
Running Android 6.0 Marshmallow OS, the Itel iT1520 sports a 5-inch HD IPS display, powered by a quad-core MediaTek processor clocked at 1.3GHz paired with 2 GB of RAM and 16 GB built-in storage space. For additional storage space, a microSD card slot for expansion up to 32GB/64GB is on-board.
For photography, there is a rear facing 13MP camera with Dual LED flash and a front facing 13MP selfie camera with LED flash for low-light conditions. The device has Dual SIM slots with dual standby, 4G VoLTE support and is backed by a 2500mAh battery.
In partnership with Reliance Jio, the Itel iT1520 users will enjoy the ‘Welcome Offer’ i.e unlimited access to 4G data and voice calls till December 2016. It measures 142.1 x 71 x 9.4 mm in dimensions, weighs in at 165 grams and arrives in either Sandstone Black or Champagne colour options.
