IUNI, a Gionee Sub-brand is readying a new low-midrange smartphone in the works. The IUNI U0001 has been certified on TENAA for China and it has also been detailed in a separate Weibo post which suggests a a potential launch date is near.
The IUNI U0001 features a 5-inch TFT display with a resolution of 1280 x 720 pixels (HD). It sports a Dual 2.5D Glass Panel, measures just 6mm thin (full dimensions – 144.9 x 69.8 x 6 mm) and weighs 124.6 grams.
Under the hood, it is powered by an octa-core processor from Mediatek clocked at 1.3GHz paired with 2GB of RAM. There is 16GB space of internal storage and possibly a microSD card slot for storage expansion (up to 128GB).
On the back, there is a rear 8MP camera which can take photos interpolated up to 13MP and the front camera is a 8MP snapper too. The device has support for the following network bands – GSM, TD-SCDMA, TD-LTE, LTE FDD, WCDMA.
The final name is not known yet but the IUNI 0001 boots Android 5.1 Lollipop OS out-of-the-box and supports 4G LTE connectivity. There is no word on battery capacity yet.
