Japanese carriers, KDDI and Okinawa Cellular has announced a new tablet – the Qua Tab PX tablet, which will go on sale in July. The new device is made by South Korean firm, LG and like some of the devices from major brands launching in Japan, the company’s logo is no where to be found on the body.
Housed in a IP67-certified plastic looking body, the Qua Tab PX (LGT31) is the Japanese version of the LG G Pad III 8.0 which is available in the US, Canada and South Korea. It sports a 8-inch 1920 x 1200 pixels (WUXGA) IPS LCD display, measures 124 x 211 x 7.8 mm in dimensions and weighs 310 grams.
Under the hood, it runs Android 6.0 Marshmallow OS out-of-the-box and relies on an octa-core Qualcomm Snapdragon 617 processor clocked at 1.5GHz with Adreno 405 GPU, 2GB of RAM, 16GB built-in storage space and a microSD card slot for storage expansion up to 200GB.
On the rear, there is a 5-megapixel camera and also the front camera is also a 5-megapixels snapper. Connectivity options available on the Single SIM Qua Tab PX include - 4G LTE (Cat. 4), WiMAX 2+, Bluetooth 4.2 and Wi-Fi 802.11 a/b/g/n/ac. It draws power from a 4800mAh battery.
