Keecoo, one of the lesser-known Chinese brands, has a new smartphone in the market (the Chinese market precisely). The Keecoo K1 has a unique hexagonal or ‘Double V’ shape found on Meitu smartphones and is designed to “fit the small hands of women”, according to the company.
The Keecoo K1 sports a 5-inch 720p HD AMOLED display with Antimicrobial Gorilla Glass and the screen can be adjusted to ‘prevent eye fatigue’ by reducing blue light exposure. A peek under the hood, shows a quad-core Mediatek MT6735P 64-bit processor clocked at 1.3GHz along with Mali-T720 GPU, 2GB of RAM and 16GB built-in expandable storage space.
Emphasis is placed on the camera capabilities handled by a rear facing Sony-made 13MP f/2.0 camera with PDAF, Dual LED flash and 1080p video recording; and a front facing 8MP camera for video calls and selfies, which is software enhanced to make the skin look delicate and smooth.
The rest of the Keecoo K1 specs includes 4G LTE, Dual SIM slots (4G + 3G), microSD card slot, 3rd gen NXP smart PA, IP64 certification (waterproof and dustproof), Bluetooth, Wi-Fi and 2300mAh battery. Pricing and availability information haven’t been made official yet but it is expected to be as affordable as the specs and will arrive in Green, Red and White colours.
