Alongside the launch of the Kobo Aura One, the company also announced a refreshed version of the Kobo Aura released back in 2013. Dubbed the Kobo Aura Edition 2 (or Kobo Aura 2016); the new ereader has the power button at the back instead of the top and enjoys both the design and lightweight nature of the Kobo Aura One.
With a 6-inch e-Ink Paper (1024 x 768 pixels) HD display and a pixel density of 221ppi, the Kobo Aura Edition 2 is comfortable to hold in the hand for reading, offers access to millions of books thanks to Wi-Fi connectivity and users can read directly under sulight without glare (anti-glare).
For a more restful reading, the screen takes advantage of Comfortlight, which adjusts the light intensity in accordance with that of the environment. The 4GB built-in storage (non-expandable) is expected to store up to 3000 books and the battery should last up to two months of reading.
The Kobo Aura Edition 2 costs the same as the Kobo Glo HD at EUR 129.99 (RRP) and Black is the only colour option. It will be available starting September 6 in the US, UK, Canada, Italy, France, Germany, Spain, Belgium , Netherlands and Turkey. From October – November, it will land in Australia, Mexico, New Zealand, and the Philippines.
