One of the major telecom companies in Korea, KT (formerly Korean Telecom) has joined hands with Chinese company, Huawei to released mobile devices under a new brand called Be Y brand. The Be Y Phone and Be Y Pad are based on existing Huawei devices and priced below 350,000 Won (US$ 312).
KT Be Y Phone
Running Android 6.0 Marshmallow OS, the KT Be Y Phone is confirmed to be based on the Huawei P9 Lite. It sports a 5.2-inch (1920 x 1080 pixels) Full HD IPS LCD display, 3GB of RAM, 16GB built-in storage space, 13MP main camera and 8mP front camera.
The Be Y Phone is equipped with a fingerprint sensor, an octa-core processor (Kirin 650 SoC) and backed by a 3000mAh battery. It is available in either Black or White colours and priced at 316,800 Won (US$ 283).
KT Be Y Pad
Priced higher at 363,000 Won (US$ 324), the KT Be Y Pad is based on the Huawei MediaPad M2 8.0, runs Android Lollipop OS and is embedded with Harman Kardon certified dual speakers for high quality audio output.
It sports an 8-inch display with 1920 x 1200 pixels (WUXGA) screen resolution, 2GB of RAM, 16GB built-in storage space and backed by a 4800mAh battery. For photography, there is a front facing 2MP camera and a rear facing 8MP camera.
The Be Y Pad skips on a fingerprint sensor and supports 4G LTE connectivity but there is also a Wi-Fi only model.
