Kyocera has added a new smartphone to the Hydro series of devices from the company. The Kyocera Hydro View as it is known, packs entry-level specs and will be available exclusively in the US for an off-contract price of US$ 80.
Running Android 5.1 Lollipop OS, the Kyocera Hydro View sports a 5-inch (960 x 540 pixels) qHD display, powered by a quad-core Qualcomm Snapdragon 210 MSM8909 processor clocked at 1.1GHz with 1GB of RAMM and 8GB built-in storage space. There is a microSD card slot for expansion up to 64GB.
The waterproof, Hydro View is IP57 certified i.e protection against dust and water immersion for up to 30 minutes in up to 3.28 feet (1 meter) of water, supports 2G, 3G & 4G (LTE Cat.4) networks. The device is backed by a non-removable 2160mAh Li-ion battery with up to 11 hours of talk-time guaranteed and could last up to 6 – 7 days of standby time.
For photography, there is a rear facing 5-megapixels camera with Autofocus and LED flash; and a front facing 2-megapixels camera for selfies. The Kyocera Hydro View measures 139 x 72.1 x 9.9 mm in dimensions, weighs 141 grams and runs Android 5.1 Lollipop OS.
