Lava Iris Alfa with Quad-core processor and 3G HSPA+ connectivity goes official

The Lava Iris Alfa is the latest smartphone from the company’s Iris series of devices; since it is headed for the Indian market alone there won’t be much critics talking about the specs.

But honestly speaking, the Lava Iris Alfa doesn’t offer much in terms ofpecs; but it is one of the cheapest considering smartphones in its range with the same specs. It features a 5-inch FWVGA IPS Full Lamination display, powered by a 1.2GHz quad-core processor with 1GB of RAM, 8GB space of internal storage, a front facing VGA camera and 5MP rear camera. There is a microSD card slot for storage expansion and allows up to 32GB space.

Other features of the Lava Iris Alfa includes – Dual SIM with Dual Standby function; GPS, Bluetooth, Wi-Fi 802.11 b/g/n and 3G HSPA+ connectivity; like all Indian based smartphones it also comes with FM Radio. It runs on Android 4.4 Kitkat OS, measures 9.2mm in thickness (others being 141 x 71.4mm), weighs 156 grams and is backed by a 2200mAh battery.

The phone would be available in India through retail stores, eBay.in, and different outlets starting today (January 19th) for Rs 6550 ($106) in White and Black colour options.
