Lava is in love with the selfie trend and is not ready to let go, the company has announced the Lava Iris X1 Selfie. The device is actually the third selfie focused smartphone from the company after the Lava Iris X5 and Lava Iris Selfie 50 smartphones.
Being a selfie focused phone, the Lava Iris X1 Selfie comes with camera focused features. The main camera is a 8MP f/2.0 snapper with LED flash and Gorilla Glass 3 cover lens. The front camera is a 5MP snapper with LED flash which would be ideal for low light selfie conditions.
You can capture images on the front camera by making a peace sign (V), then there is voice controlled photo capture which just needs you to say ‘Cheese’ or Capture and both the front and rear cameras have smile detection features. There are other addon features like – skin smootehning, skin whitening, teeth whitening and more.
If you are sold on the camera, the Lava Iris X1 Selfie disappoints a in the specs segment; it sports a 4.5-inch IPS display with a resolution of 800 x 484 pixels (FWVGA) display and is powered by a quad-core MediaTek MT6580 processor clocked at 1.3GHz paired with 1GB RAM and 8GB internal storage space.
There is a microSD card slot for storage expansion (up to 32GB). The Iris X1 Selfie measures 133.5 x 66.0 x 8.5mm in dimensions, weighs 140 grams, runs Android 5.1 Lollipop OS which is a relief and is backed by a 2000mAh battery.
Connectivity options on the Lava Iris X1 Selfie includes – Bluetooth, GPS, Wi-Fi 802.11n and 3G HSPA+. It is priced at Rs 6777 ($106) and will be available in Black, White and Purple colours.
