Lava has announced the Lava Iris X5 4G, the company’s latest 4G smartphone. The solid midranger which is expected to deliver optimal performance and one for the selfie lovers. Last month, the Iris X5 4G surfaced on benchmark website, GFXBench.
The Lava Iris X5 4G impresses very well in the camera segment, it has a front facing 8MP f/2.4 camera with LED flash and 84-degree wide angle lens for selfies; and a rear facing 13MP f/2.0 camera with Dual LED flash. The device runs on Star OS which is said to be based on the latest Android 5.1.1 Lollipop OS.
Under the hood, it is powered by a Quad-Core MediaTek MT6735 processor clocked at 1.3GHz paired with Mali-T720
GPU, 2GB of RAM and 16GB space of internal storage. There is a microSD card slot for storage expansion up to 32GB.
The Dual SIM enabled Lava Iris X5 4G sports a 5-inch (1280 x 720 pixels) HD IPS display, a metal frame around the body and a glass back. The device is protected by Asahi Dragon Trail Glass and comes with oleo-phobic coating to prevent hand imprints, smudges and the likes.
Connectivity options on the device includes – Bluetooth 4.0, GPS, Wi-Fi 802.11 b/g/n, 3G HSPA+ and 4G LTE. Talking about LTE, there is support for the FDD-LTE 1800MHz B3 and TDD-LTE 2300MHz B40 which are wide used in India.
The Lava Iris X5 4G measures 141.6 x 70.8 x 7.6 mm in dimensions, weighs 128 grams and is backed by a 2500mAh battery. The device is available from Amazon.in for Rs 10,199 ($160) in Black (Royal) and Blue (Icy) colour options.
