There are no shortage of entry-level smartphones (both 3G and 4G LTE) in India, but then, Lava Mobiles has just added a new one to the mix. – the Lava P7. The 5-inch device is available from online and brick and mortar retail stores across the country for a price of Rs 5499 (USD 81).
Dresses in Blue, Gold and White colours, the Lava P7 rocks a metal body frame, sports a 5-inch (854 x 480 pixels) FWVGA display and is backed by a 2000mAh battery. It has Dual SIM slots (with Dual Standby) and runs Android 5.1 Lollipop OS out-of-the-box with promised upgrade to Andrid 6.0 Marshmallow OS in the future.
Under the hood, it is powered by a quad-core MediaTek processor clocked at 1.2GHz with 1GB of RAM and 8GB built-in storage space. For additional storage, there is a microSD card slot for expansion up to 32GB. Connectivity options available includes – 3G HSPA+, Wi-Fi 802.11n, Bluetooth 4.0 and GPS.
In the camera segment, there is a rear facing 5MP camera with LED flash and a front placed 2MP camera with front LED flash for capturing better selfies in low-light conditions. It supports Smart wake-up, custom gestures and 12 regional Indian Languages via Google Indic keyboard.
