Lava Mobiles has announced two new smartphones – the Lava V2 3GB and Lava V2s. Both devices which are focused on their camera features follow the Lava Pixel V2 which was launched last year. The V2 3GB costs USD 161 (Rs 10,750) in Black, Gold and Icy White colours whereas the Lava V2s costs USD 131 (Rs 8,750) in Black and Icy White colours.
The 7.8 mm thick Lava V2 3GB has a display protected by Asahi Dragontrail glass, packs 3GB of RAM, 16GB built-in expandable storage space and run Star OS based Android 6.0 Marshmallow OS . In contrast, the 8mm thick Lava V2s has a display protected by Corning Gorilla Glass, measures 8 mm thick, pack 2GB of RAM, 8GB built-in expandable storage space and runs Star OS based on Android 5.1 Lollipop OS.
The Lava V2 3GB and Lava V2s pack a 5-inch IPS display with 1280 x 720 pixels (HD) screen resolution, powered by the 64-bit quad-core Mediatek MT6735 processor, microSD card slot (up to 32GB), 4G LTE connectivity, Dual 4G SIM slots with Dual Standby, USB OTG and a 2500mAh battery.
In the camera segment, there is a front facing 8MP camera with front facing flash and 84-degree wide aperture. The V2 3GB has a rear facing 13MP camera while the V2s has a 8MP rear facing camera; both boast 5-layer Largan lenses with Blue Glass filters, Dual LED flashes, f/2.0 aperture, 1080p Full HD video recording and 1.4 micron pixel sizes. There is also the MagicPix software for editing and beautifying.
