Despite the mass availability of several 4G smartphones (budget, mid-range and high-end) in the Indian market, Lava Mobiles has decided to launch a 3G smartphone into the market. Lava X3, as the device is known, is available for a Rs. 6499 (US$ 96) price tag.
It will arrive in White with Gold and White with Silver colour options and can be purchased from Amazon.in, Flipkart and several retail outlets in the country.
Measuring 144 x 72 x 8.45mm in dimensions and weighing 141 grams, the Lava X3 sports a 5-inch IPS display with 1280 x 720 pixels (HD) screen resolution and relies on a quad-core Mediatek processor clocked at 1.3GHz under the hood along with 2GB of RAM and 8GB built-in expandable storage space.
For additional storage space, there is a microSD card slot for expansion and for photography, a front facing 5-megapixel camera for selfies and video chats, and a rear facing 8-megapixel camera with LED flash.
The Lava X3 only supports 2G and 3G networks but not 4G LTE support; other connectivity options includes – Wi-Fi 802.11 b/g/n, Bluetooth 4.0, GPS and micro USB. It has Dual SIM slots, run Android 5.1.1 Lollipop OS and is backed by a 2500mAh battery.
