Lava Mobiles has released a new entry level smartphone in India. Dubbed the Lava X38, the new Marshmallow powered smartphone is priced slightly lesser than the $100 price tag and comes with a huge capacity battery. It is confirmed to be exclusively on sale via the Indian Times shopping website.
Backed by a 4000mAh battery which should up to two days of mixed normal usage; the Lava X38 packs a 5-inch (1280 x 720 pixels) HD IPS LCD display and relies on a quad-core Mediatek MT6735P processor clocked at 1.0GHz along with 1GB of RAM and 8GB built-in storage space (up to 32GB via microSD card).
In the camera aspect, there is a rear placed 8MP AutoFocus camera with LED flash, 1080p Full HD video recording; and a front facing 2MP camera for video calling and selfies. The X38 packs Dual SIM slots, supports 2G GSM, 3G WCDMA and 4G LTE (LTE Cat.6) networks as well as Bluetooth, GPS, Wi-Fi 802.11 b/g/n and micro USB 2.0.
The Lava X38 runs Android 6.0 Marshmallow OS out-of-the-box, has FM Radio and doesn’t really offer any other standout features. It is available for Rs. 6599 (US$ 99) and comes in Blue and Black colour options.
