Voice over LTE (VoLTE) enabled smartphones are the new cool in India and quite a number from various manufacturers have been announced in recent times. The Lava X50 joins the list of these devices with the same feature and will sell for a price tag of Rs. 8,699 (US$ 131).
Available in Blue colour option only, the Lava X50 sports a 5.5-inch IPS LCD display with a screen resolution of 1280 x 720 pixels (HD), a pixel density of 267ppi and is backed by a 2000mAh Lithium Polymer battery.
A peek in the inside shows a quad-core processor clocked at 1.3GHz (possibly a Mediatek one) along with 2GB of RAM, 8GB built-in storage space and a microSD card slot for additional storage expansion.
In the camera department, there is a rear facing 8MP AF camera with LED flash and a front facing 5MP camera with Front Flash for selfies and video chats.
The Lava X50 has Dual SIM slots, supports 2G, 3G and 4G LTE (Cat.4) networks as well as VoLTE, Bluetooth 4.0, Wi-Fi 802.11 b/g/n, GPS and micro USB. It runs Android 5.1 Lollipop OS out-of-the-box with promised upgrade to Android 6.0.x Marshmallow OS.
