Lava Z50 Android Oreo (Go Edition) Smartphone Announced

India’s Lava mobile brand has joined the now thriving Android Go train with the launch of the ‎Lava Z50 Android Oreo (Go Edition). It follows similar entry-level devices such as the ZTE Temp Go, Nokia 1 and Alcatel 1X, which all have 1GB of RAM and comes pre-loaded with the streamlined apps such as the Google Go, Youtube Go, Gmail Go, Chrome and more.

The Lava Z50 Android Oreo (Go Edition) has a 4.5-inch FWVGA 2.5D curved glass display with Corning Gorilla Glass covering, rear 5MP cameras with LED flash and front facing 5MP camera with LED flash. It is powered by a 64-bit quad-core Mediatek MT6737M processor paired with 1GB of RAM and 8GB built-in storage space (expandable up to 128GB via microSD).

The smartphone will also support 4G LTE networks with VOLTE and arrive in Black and Gold colour options. It will go on sale by mid-March 2018 in over 100,000 retail stores in India. There will be 2-year warranty in place for the device and Bharti Airtel has a cashback offer in place worth Rs 2000.

Earlier, Bharti Airtel and Google teamed up to launch low-cost 4G smartphones powered by Android Oreo (Go Edition) under Airtel’s ‘Mera Pehla Smartphone’ program. These devices will be made by Indian OEMs such as Lava and Micromax, and they will be pre-loaded with apps such as Airtel TV and Wynk Music.

PS: Micromax will introduce new BHARAT Go smartphones powered by Android Oreo (Go Edition).
