Leagoo, one of the numerous smartphone makers from China, has announced a new smartphone – the Leagoo M5 Edge. The mid- to low-tier device has an innovative ‘3D Edgeless Display,’ rear placed fingerprint sensor (0.19s unlock time) and boots Freeme OS 6.0, based on Android 6.0 Marshmallow OS.
Sporting a 8.5mm slim polycarbonate body with CNC-cut metal frame, the Leagoo M5 Edge sports a 5-inch OnCell IPS display with 1280 x 720 pixels (HD) screen resolution, 178-degree viewing angle, 80% screen to body ratio and relies on a moderate 2000mAh battery for power. It measures 140 x 68.3 x 8.5 mm in dimensions and weigh in at 164.5 grams.
Under the hood, the device relies on a quad-core Mediatek MT6737 64-bit processor clocked at 1.5GHz paired with Mali-T720 GPU, 2GB of RAM and 16GB built-in storage space, which is expandable up to 128GB via microSD. It has Dual SIM slots (with Dual Standby) and supports 4G LTE networks.
Photography is taken care of by a rear 13MP AutoFocus camera with f/2.0 aperture, 4P lens and 75-degree viewing angle and a 8MP Wide Angle front camera with f/2.4 aperture, 3P lens and 77.9-degree viewing angle. The camera has FotoNation effects such as Filmmode, HDR, Pose, Night, Watermark, and more.
The Leagoo M5 Edge is also equipped with Awinic 7th generation Hi-FI audo chip, bringing studio quality sound by giving signal-to-noise of up to 97dB and 0.008% ultra-low distortion. It will arrive in Champagne Gold and Obsidian Black colours.
